Volunteers and Interns
It's thanks to the involvement of a many talented and dedicated volunteers
that
Legion Arts has become one of the most respected arts presenters in the
Midwest. Volunteers staff the box office at every performance, where they
also serve as ushers, sound and light operators, concessionaires and
production assistants. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Volunteers
are involved in all aspects of the organization, including arts presenting,
arts production, community arts, events management, facility upkeep and
marketing.
Whether you're looking to expand your circle of friends, increase your
knowledge and participation in the arts, contribute to your community, or
carry out a structured involvement for academic credit, we can find a place
for you. Just show up at one of volunteer kickoff nights, held every

Finance Associate
This position has been filled.
Paid, part-time position. Legion Arts seeks an
experience finance associate to assist with financial operations and
planning for a small, nationally regarded arts nonprofit. Responsible for
processing deposits, payables and receivables; overseeing cash flow;
preparing monthly and annual reports; and other tasks. Reports to executive
director, and works with executive director and board on the development and
monitoring of agency budget (FY 2005 budget is $260,000). As part of a
grassroots team responsible for some of the most dynamic arts programming in
the Midwest, the position offers the right person ample opportunities for
learning and growth. Basic computer skills required. Experience with
QuickBooks and Excel desirable. Background in nonprofit finance, grants
management, or arts presenting helpful. Nonprofit salary, flexible schedule,

individual will be engaged with all aspects of an innovative, busy and
varied program. Specific areas of activity include audience relations, box
office and sales, publicity and marketing, scheduling and documentation,
volunteer management, maintaining an artist resource area, and assisting the
communication flow among artists, staff, and board. Will occasionally be
asked to assist with other aspects of Legion Arts programs, including

Artist Network This position has been filled.
Legion Arts seeks four Eastern Iowa artists to help initiate, build and
maintain an artist network during the 2004-05, September through May season.
Participants should expect to convene once or twice a month in Cedar Rapids.
In addition, each artist
will receive an honorarium, opportunities for professional development, and showing
of his or her work at CSPS. Emerging artists preferred. All
artistic disciplines (visual, performing, literary, and electronic) eligible. If interested send cover letter, resume and work
