Suzzy Roche & Lucy Wainwright Roche

  • Wed Sep 27 2017 - 7:00 pm • CSPS Hall
  • $17 advance | $21 door

Having just released their second collaboration, this storied duo has been called the latest chapter in the first family of folk. Suzzy Roche, founding member of The Roches, spent the 80s and 90s touring with that influential trio. Along the way she published several novels, acted in films, and appeared with legendary New York theatre troupe The Wooster Group. Her daughter Lucy, whose father is Loudon Wainwright III, and whose siblings are Martha and Rufus, has released a series of solo albums that demonstrate her crystal clear voice and talent for insightful, melodic songwriting. Together they’ve got stage presence to spare, and their popular performances are filled with smart, penetrating songs and plenty of familial harmony. Suzzy hasn’t lost a step as a harmony singer, while Lucy is increasingly known for her humorous stage presence and bell-like voice. Their first album together, Fairytale and Myth, was voted Singer-Songwriter Album of the Year in the Independent Music Awards. Their latest, Apples and Mud, was proclaimed by Sing-Out magazine “a great gift … a perfect CD for any day of the year.”
