Four new exhibits are on view this month at CSPS. Dan Perry (Cedar Falls) creates sculptures that manage to feel organic and mechanical, fractured and totemic, comic and spiritual, all at once. Hannah Givler (Iowa City) + Tim Nickodemus (Chicago) have collaborated on a group of sculptures (hers) and paintings (his) that engage in a dialogue that’s both energetic and delicate. Alex Braidwood shoots digital video that reveals both a composer’s ear and the sensibility of an anthropologist, while Molly Burt-Westvig (pictured above) unveils a dynamic suite of paintings inspired by her recent time in Iceland. An artist reception, free and open to the public, will take place on Thursday, Feb 2, from 5 to 7 pm. The galleries at CSPS are open 10 to 6 daily, and from 12 to 4 Sundays and holidays. Admission is always free.
