Mick MacNeil of Simple Minds calls them “the most promising young band in Scotland today.” Since they first came together on the tiny lsle of Tiree back in 2005, Skerryvore has exploded across the Scottish music scene, winning Songwriter of the Year, Record of the Year and Band of the Year awards. Since then the band has toured relentlessly, sharing their love of music ― from traditional tunes, to urban rock sounds, to more than a few pop references ― with audiences around the world. Bagpipes, violin and accordions, combined with funky rhythms and passionate songs, are the main ingredients of Skerryvore´s sound. Highlighted by the promising voice of frontman Alec Dalglish, the band’s bright, breezy, feel-good sounds have garnered the group an ever-increasing international fan base.
