Landfall Wednesday: Roopa Panesar

Considered one of the finest sitar players on the Indian classical music scene, Roopa Panesar receives accolades from audiences and peers alike for her outstanding ability and the quality of her music. Her unique, soulful style of playing leaves listeners captivated. She released her debut album “Khoj” in 2011, and completed her debut tour of India in 2014, performing for ecstatic audiences in Delhi, Mumbai and Sra Kolkata. She has since toured extensively in the UK, Europe and the Americas, performing at prestigious venues and festivals. A qualified chemical engineer, she is involved in numerous projects to inspire and educate a new generation of Indian classical musicians in the UK.
